Kang Dong-won (강동원) is a South Korean film and television actor. He was born on 18 January 1981 in Pusan, South Korea. He was a professional model before he started acting in tv dramas and movies. With his beautiful androgynous look, Kang Dong Won is considered as one of the leading stars of the second-generation Hallyu (Korean Wave), reaching fame in Asian countries particularly in Japan. He is arguably the most promising young actor in the Korean film industry, after his critically acclaimed performance in "Maundy Thursday (2006)". His acting ability, which has long been overshadowed by his look and popularity, has further been proven genuine in the recent hit movie "His Voice (2007)" where he appears only in voice. His circle of famous friends include Won Bin, Gong Yoo, Jo In Sung, Ha Ji-won (whom he co-starred in Duelist) and Jo Han Sun (his co-star in A Wolf's Temptation) to mention a few.
